Ms. Caitlin James

Hi! I'm Ms. James, and I have had the privilege of teaching English at Lamar State College Port Arthur for twelve years now, having earned tenure along the way. I find immense joy in guiding my students through their journey with language and literature. Witnessing their writing skills flourish and seeing them grow both academically and personally has been incredibly rewarding. Beyond the classroom, I serve as a faculty advisor on campus, where I take great pleasure in assisting students with their college degree plans and offering support as they navigate their academic paths. My own academic journey led me to earn my BA (2008) and MA (2011) from Lamar University, both in English and Literature. Outside of academia, I cherish my role as a parent to two wonderful children; my daughter, who is 6 and attends our Homeschool, and my son, who is almost 20 and lives in Austin. Overall, I am dedicated to both my family and my students, striving to make a positive impact in their lives every day.
